Oregon Softball prepared for NCAA Super Regional battle with UCLA
Fifth-seeded Oregon has an opportunity for revenge this weekend against #11 UCLA in the NCAA Super Regionals. The Bruins beat the Ducks in a series earlier this season in Eugene, and beat UO last season in the Women's College World Series. First pitch for game one of the best of three is Saturday at 6:30 PM on KWVA. Then, the series continues Sunday at 4:00 PM. If necessary, the teams will face off Sunday at 6:30 as well. Oregon Advances to Another Super Regional After Dominant Weekend
The Oregon Ducks beat the Baylor Lady Bears by a score of 8-1 at Jane Sanders Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Cheridan Hawkins was spectacular again from the circle, tossing four-and-two-thirds scoreless innings before freshman Megan Kleist shut the door on the Bears. Nikki Udria led the way on the offensive side, launching her 17th home run of the 2016 campaign while driving in three runs. Alyssa Gillepsie and Jenna Lilley also starred offensively, each tallying three hits on the afternoon. With the win, the Ducks advanced to their seventh-consecutive Super Regional appearance and they will face Pac-12 foe UCLA next weekend in Eugene.
