The Oregon Men's Tennis Team defeated the Stanford Cardinals 4-3 on Sunday afternoon. Led by Akihiro Tanaka and Ethan Young-Smith's comeback, 3-set victories, the Ducks were able to pull of the huge upset. Also, Thomas Laurent beat the #10 ranked player in the nation 6-4, 6-0. The Ducks play their last regular season match against their rivals the Washington Huskies. The match is on Saturday, April 22nd at home at 2 pm. Oregon Softball returned to the Jane Saturday after splitting the first two games against UW in this series. After getting off to a slow start offensively, the Ducks eventually took the lead in the fourth on a Nikki Udria home run. The Ducks blew the save in the seventh and eventually lost in the ninth after Morganne Flores drove in two with her third double of the game. Despite being tied most of the game, the Ducks were out hit 12 to 5. Oregon will look forward to next weekend, when they head to Tucson to play the conference leading Wildcats. After dropping game 1 of the series 4-2, the Ducks were eager to take revenge against their rivals, the Washington Huskies. After getting off to a 1-0 start in the first inning, the Ducks erupted for three runs in the third and one in the fifth while holding a power Huskies offense at bay. The Ducks only managed to get four hits, but found offense in other factions of the game, walking four times and reaching on an error twice. Oregon sophomore pitcher Kleist was in control most of the game, allowing only one run on five hits and striking out five as well.
