Softball: Oregon Ties School Record with 18 Consecutive Wins, Sweeping Day Two of the Missouri Invite

Coming off a very successful opening day of the Missouri Invitational, the Ducks were looking for the same results on day two. Opening up the day in a rematch against Missouri, Oregon struck early, with one run in the first inning and two runs in the second. Missouri did not have enough firepower to answer back as Oregon piled on four more runs and ended up losing 7-2. Megan Kleist picked up her sixth win of the season.  In game two of the day, the Ducks blanked the Butler Bulldogs, only allowing one hit and ending the game in walk-off fashion off of a Jenna Lilley two-run home run. Baseball: Ducks Can't Hold Lead, Drop Game 2 to Mississippi State

After a historic win for the Oregon Ducks in Game 1 of the first series of the season at PK Park, the Mississippi State Bulldogs evened the slate with a 5-4 victory on Saturday afternoon in Eugene, Ore. The Ducks got off to a hot start by scoring three runs in the first two innings thanks to doubles by Matthew Dyer, Tim Susnara, and AJ Balta, but the Bulldogs scored two runs in both the sixth and eighth innings to take their first lead of the game. Matt Mercer started his third game of the season for Oregon and he allowed six hits and three runs (just two earned) in six innings, resulting in a no-decision. A throwing error by Dyer in right field in the sixth inning put two Bulldogs in scoring position, which set up an important two-out, two-run single by Mississippi State catcher Josh Lovelady to tie the score. On day one of the Missouri Invitational, Oregon lit up the scoreboard, downing a struggling Maryland team 14-0 and walking away with a 10-3 victory over #24 Missouri. Freshman pitcher Miranda Elish is now 3-0 on the season after pitching a one-hit complete game against Maryland.
