SB: #3 Ducks drop #23 Cal 5-1 to begin Pac-12 play

The #3 Oregon Ducks began Pac-12 play the same way they began the season--winning. However, this game was different. The Ducks did not dominate the game in the same fashion they are used to, but Maggie Balint pitched out of two timely jams and Gwen Svekis connected for her fourth home run of the season. The No. 14 seed Iona made it interesting with No.3 Oregon thanks to a rally in the second half and were down a single point ten minutes into the game. But the Ducks shot 56% for the game and out rebounded the Gaels 41-27 in a 93-77 victory.
