MBB: Ducks Grind Out Civil War Game With 66-57 Victory
The Ducks got off to a quick start, going on a 22-2 run in the first half to put them up 27-11 and that seemed to be enough for the Ducks to squeeze out the victory. Part of that first half run was due in part to Elijah Brown, who had 18 points in the first half and Paul White, who had 11. The Beavers, though, were able to chip away at the lead in the second half by slowing the game down and getting in their sets. This resulted in them getting 22 of their 32 points in the paint in the second half. The Ducks were able to hit enough free throws near the end of the game, going 19-24 from the free throw line, to hold on and tie the season series at 1-1. Overall, the Ducks shot better from the field compared to the Beavers, as the Ducks shot 44.7% compared to the Beavers 43.8%. The Beavers are now 1-5 in PAC-12 play when their opponents shoot a better percentage than them. This was also the 350th time the Ducks and Beavers have played against each other, making it the most contested… Read More
