Oregon Softball picked up three runs against no. 12 Arizona in the series finale on Sunday, March 17, but for the third consecutive game, the Wildcats scored eight in victory to sweep the series. The Ducks racked up eight hits, but stranded eight as well during another multi-home run game for the Wildcats. BSB | Oregon Continues To Allow Big Innings In Blowout Loss
Oregon(10-7, 0-2 PAC-12) came into today's game looking to bounce back from yesterday's 9-3 loss, but instead fell victim to big innings once again, going down to Washington again by a score of 19-3. Sophomore righty Robert Ahlstrom made his second career start, going four innings and allowing six earned runs, while striking out five and walking three. He got a lot of fly balls, inducing 6 flyouts, but otherwise seemed to struggle with his command high in the zone.
The bullpen seemed to struggle keeping runs off the board also, allowing 11 earned runs over the final five innings. Oregon pitching in general seemed to struggle with avoiding huge innings, allowing five runs in the third, four runs in the eighth, and six runs in the ninth.
The Oregon offense remained dormant for the second straight game, only totaling seven hits, with nothing longer than a single. Two bright spots, however, were leadoff hitter Sam Novitske and leftfielder Taylor Adams. Novitske went…

Oregon Softball picked up their second consecutive 8-0 loss to Arizona on Saturday, March 16, as UO's offense struggled and Arizona's thrived at home. The Wildcats knocked three home runs out of Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium on Saturday, giving them seven for the weekend, while the Ducks put up three hits one day after they mustered just two. For Arizona (20-7, 2-0 Pac-12), Gina Snyder (4-0) picks up the win; for the Ducks (11-12, 0-2 Pac-12), Jordan Dail (9-7) records the loss. Oregon will try to bump back up to .500 and snap their eight-game skid on St. Patrick's Day, with Sunday's first pitch time scheduled for noon.
