The Oregon's Men's Basketball Team blew out the Alabama State Hornets 114-56 on Friday night. It was a balanced scoring night for the team, as six players scored in double figures. Kenny Wooten led the team in scoring with 19 points, while also pulling down 13 rebounds and recording 5 blocks. Victor Bailey Jr. finished with 18 points and Elijah Brown chipped in 15 points. Also, Dana Altman recorded his 600th career win, becoming only the 34th NCAA Division 1 and 10th active coach to accomplish that feat. Taylor Agost and Ronika Stone both had career highs in kills, with 25 and 18 respectively. Taylor Mims led the way for the Cougars. She also had a career high in kills, with 26. As a team, Oregon hit .269 on the match, compared to .329 for Washington State. Service errors hurt the Ducks late in the match, and they finished the match with 11 of them. Having been voted the Ducks' defensive captain prior to the season, senior defensive end Henry Mondeaux's role was certain to expand in 2017. As one of the few players who has been through each of the team's schematic transitions over the years, the experience that head coach Willie Taggart and defensive line coach Joe Salave'a had in Mondeaux was invaluable. Generating five sacks himself and leading the nation in quarterback hurries as a 3-4 defensive end (per Pro Football Focus), Mondeaux has helped lead the Ducks defense as one of the best rush defenses in the PAC-12. Jalen Jelks has been the most noteworthy Duck defensive lineman, but without Mondeaux's teaching and leadership, the Oregon defense would be missing its essential piece.
