STORY: Henry Mondeaux Leading Oregon's Defense by Example
Having been voted the Ducks' defensive captain prior to the season, senior defensive end Henry Mondeaux's role was certain to expand in 2017. As one of the few players who has been through each of the team's schematic transitions over the years, the experience that head coach Willie Taggart and defensive line coach Joe Salave'a had in Mondeaux was invaluable. Generating five sacks himself and leading the nation in quarterback hurries as a 3-4 defensive end (per Pro Football Focus), Mondeaux has helped lead the Ducks defense as one of the best rush defenses in the PAC-12. Jalen Jelks has been the most noteworthy Duck defensive lineman, but without Mondeaux's teaching and leadership, the Oregon defense would be missing its essential piece. Two weeks to go in the regular season and one win needed for a bowl bid has Oregon seeking to extend not just their season, but Mondeaux's career. Listen below to a full story on the senior defensive lineman, his impact, and Oregon's drive to get him… Read More
