MBB: The Ducks Have Best Defensive Game, Beat Huskies 65-40

The Ducks defense proved key in the big victory against the Huskies. The Ducks only allowed their opponents to shoot 27.8% from the field and 17.6% from the three-point line. As a result of their great defense, the Huskies leading scorer, freshman guard Jaylen Nowell, who came into the game averaging 16.5 ppg, was held to only 9 points on 4-15 shooting. The defense in the paint was also great for the Ducks, as the team had 7 blocks, all of which came from freshman forward Kenny Wooten. Offensively, the Ducks were solid as the three players who scored in double figures shot 50% or better from the field. Freshman Troy Brown led the team in scoring with 21 points on 8-12 shooting. Also, sophomore Payton Pritchard chipped in 12 points and 8 assists, while freshman Kenny Wooten had 12 points and 7 blocks. The Ducks (16-8, 6-5 PAC-12) are now above .500% in conference. Their next game is on Sunday against Washington State at 5 pm at Matthew Knight Arena. Game Story (by… Continue with MBB: The Ducks Have Best Defensive Game, Beat Huskies 65-40.
