Suffering the first series loss to Oregon State(24-18,6-13 Pac-12) in a decade yesterday, the Ducks(21-25,4-14 Pac-12) came into Sunday's match up looking to avoid the sweep at the hands of their rival. In a back and forth battle with plenty of offense being showcased, Oregon dropped the final game 12-8. In order to reach .500 the team must go 5-1 in their remaining games to keep their tournament hopes alive.

Pitching for the third time in three days, starting pitcher Jordan Dail(3.96 ERA) fell victim to some big innings by the Beavers offense. In the 3rd, Oregon State put up five runs and added another three in the 6th, which would be Dail's last inning. Her final line was 5.1 innings, 7 earned runs, 3 home runs, 2 strikeouts and no walks, although she did hit a batter. #17 USC defeated #22 Colorado 12-3 to clinch their (history) Pac-12 Championship Sunday afternoon at Pape Field. Trojans were lead by Kelsey Huff’s 3 goal game and Riley Hertford’s 11 saves. USC finishes their regular season with a 16-3 record and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Trojans got off to a 7-0 lead before CU’s Miranda Stinson scored to get Colorado on the board. But the lead was too large as SC outscored Colorado 5-2 in the 2nd half.

Goaltender Hertford’s strong performance included stuffing shots in front of the crease and making long range saves. USC played a stifling defense which featured a tight zone in front of Hertford.

After the game, Kerrigan Miller was awarded the Pac-12 tournament MVP. Miller opened the scoring in the championship game and added 3 assists as well. She finished the tournament with 4 points in 2 games.

Despite being down 8-3 going into the 7th, Oregon tried their best to excite the fans in a sold out Jane Sanders Stadium, mounting a comeback, but only managed three runs and falling just short of the win.

An impressive 4-1 home stand against UC Berkeley and Portland State has helped the Ducks scrape their way into sixth place in Pac-12 standings. This afternoon, the women in white and green took on the Oregon State Beavers, in game 1 of 3 in their classic rivalry series. The Civil War series is usually drama enough for the Eugene faithful, but today’s game was about more than just bragging rights. Both teams are looking to make a postseason push, and everyone expected a hard fought battle from both side. Today was anything but that. The Beavers were all over Jordan Dail, as they smashed their way to a dominant 8-0, run-rule victory in the 5th inning.

The Ducks managed only 6 hits today, 4 of which came from stellar freshmen, Allee Bunker and Jasmine Sievers. The stat sheets shows an offensive travesty, but a closer look at game film would reveal that the Ducks actually made solid contact for most of the afternoon. Oregon State…
