BSB: An Incredible Season Comes to a Bitter Game Seven End
An incredible season for the Oregon Ducks comes to a bitter close losing in game seven of the Eugene regional to LSU 9-8 Monday night. The win-or-go-home game was certainly jam-packed with drama until the last swing of the bat. In the 17-run, 24-hit affair the pair of teams scored in nine of 17 innings with LSU’s three-run eighth the decider in the contest.
Gavin Dugas, who was an issue for Oregon all night long, started the scoring with a two-run blast in the first but it was all Oregon for the next four innings behind an impressive outing from surprise starter Andrew Mosiello and the bats of key Ducks. Oregon played effective small-ball baseball and then Zavala sent the crowd into a frenzy after a deep one over the left-field wall. The Tigers did not let the 5-2 hole deter them, clawing back after another Dugas homerun, Bianco finding his way home on a wild pitch, and then a Bianco bomb to left-center to give LSU a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the sixth. Every inclination…

LSU Forces Decisive Game 7 in Eugene Regional as Oregon's Bats Fall Quiet in 4-1 Loss
The LSU Tigers (37-23) will have a chance to upset the Oregon Ducks (39-15) in the Eugene Regional on Monday night after keeping Oregon's hot offense at bay in a 4-1 win on Sunday night. Using a committee approach on the hill, LSU's Trent Vietmeier, Javen Coleman and Devin Fontenot only gave up four hits. Oregon's lone tally came on a Kenyon Yovan sacrifice fly in the third inning off of Coleman, who went a career high six innings.
The Tigers were carried on offense by two of their stars, outfielders Dylan Crews and Gavin Dugas, who went a combined 6 for 7 at the dish. Dugas finished a single shy of a cycle while Crews went 3 for 3 and slugged his 15th home run of the season.
