Oregon Women's Basketball Tips Off Season with Record Breaking 131-91 Victory Over CSU Bakersfield
After a rough season last year, the Oregon women tipped off their 2013-14 season with a dominate, record breaking 131-91 victory over CSU Bakersfield from the WAC. Oregon's 131 points was a team and Pac-12 scoring record. The Ducks drained 20 three pointers, which is also a team and Pac-12 single game team record while falling short of the NCAA record by just one. Making her Oregon debut, the transfer from Hofstra, junior guard Katelyn Loper contributed nine of these shots as part of her 29 points, while Oregon sophomore Jillian Alleyne owned the paint with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Freshman Crishae Rowe also made her debut for Oregon, finishing with 27 points and six rebounds.

Weekend Watch: All Quiet in Eugene
After seemingly every October weekend was filled to the brim with Oregon athletic contests in Eugene, this weekend is quite the opposite. The only contest in town is the women's basketball regular season opener Saturday night against Cal State-Bakersfield at 7:00 (follow @KWVAsports for updates).
Despite the absence of events, Friday Night Spotlight will be jam packed tonight. Starting at 7:00, Travis Teich, Nick Rogers and Andrew Murray have 3 hours of exciting sports talk, including reviewing what went wrong for Oregon football last night. Guests include current Sports Director Joey McMurry and former Sports Director Colin Deaver. You can get involved too by calling in at (541) 346-0645 or tweet at us @KWVAsports.
This weekend may be a quiet one, but next week will be plenty busy, with both basketball teams, volleyball and football playing at home. We'll have plenty more details in the next Weekend Watch.
