Ducks Struggle in all Phases in 49-7 loss to Stanford

The Oregon Ducks fell to 4-3 in Willie Taggart's first season as head coach after the No. 23 Stanford Cardinal (5-2) cruised to a 49-7 victory on Saturday night at Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto, California. Heisman candidate and Cardinal running back Bryce Love rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns (136 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter), including a 67-yard touchdown run to put Stanford in front 14-0 before five minutes had ticked off the first quarter clock. True freshman Braxton Burmeister started his second-consecutive game for the Ducks at quarterback, but completed just three passes on eight throws. He did not throw for a touchdown and was picked off twice by the Stanford defense. Burmeister did find the end zone with his legs in the first quarter for the first time in his career, but the scramble wound end up being Oregon's first and last scoring play of the night. VB: Oregon escapes Washington with five-set victory over WSU

Oregon escaped Pullman with a five-set victory over Washington State (22-25, 25-23, 25-16, 17-25, 15-13). Leading the way once again was outside hitter Taylor Agost, totaling 24 kills on 63 attacks, along with seven digs. Opposite-side hitter Willow Johnson struggled for much of the match, but came alive in the fifth set, tallying six kills in the final frame. Defensively, Lindsey Vander-Weide led the way with 21 digs. Oregon now stands 4-4 in conference play and 11-5 overall.
