Oregon Relays Day 2 Update, April 18, 2014

  The Oregon Relays day 2 came to a close April 18, 2014. Men took first in the Decathlon and Women took second and fifth. Dakotah Keys dominated the men’s decathlon winning 8 of the 10 events over the two day competition. Dakotah set a new decathlon personal record scoring 8,027 points, which ties him with Craig Brigham for #4 all-time at the University of Oregon. Dakotah felt that his training paid off as he set a new personal record in the 1500 meters, the final event in the decathlon, with a time of 4 minutes 24.21 seconds. In the Women’s Heptathlon, Oregon’s Daphne Chambers won the shot put with a throw of 13.39 meters and finished 2nd in both the 200 meter dash and 800 meters in times… Read More

Number one ranked Oregon got off to another hot start Thursday at Howe Field, scoring five runs in the first inning. Cheridan Hawkins picked up the complete game victory, allowing just three hits and one earned run. The Ducks had already scored five with no outs on California starter Nisa Ontiveros before she was pulled from the game.
