Baseball: Utah's Josh Lapania Pitches Complete Game-Shutout, Ducks Lose 2-0

The Ducks dropped the deciding game of the series with the Utah Utes on Sunday afternoon. David Peterson pitched himself into a few jams, Nick Catalano was called out for leaving the box early on a bunt, and Brac Warren balked to let the second run score; it was not a good day for the Ducks to say the least. On Tuesday, coach George Horton and company will take on the Seattle University Redhawks before they resume Pac-12 play on Thursday against the Washington Huskies. The degree of the Ducks' success in Washington will ultimately hinge upon the consistency of their offense. Baseball: Ducks Snap Four Game Skid, Beat Utah 9-5

The Oregon Ducks came back from a three-run deficit to beat the Utes. The momentum shifted heavily in the Ducks' favor after what would have been an inning-ending play became a series of mistakes for Utah's second baseman, Cody Scaggari. His foot came off the base allowing runners to be safe - the bases would have been loaded. Without calling timeout, Scaggari argued with the umpire allowing Susnara to score. The Ducks went on to have a four-run sixth inning batting around the order and did not look back. The Ducks improve to 9-6 and gain their first Pac-12 victory of the season.
