SB: Ducks Sweep First Series at Jane Sanders

Oregon softball finished off a three-game sweep of the visiting Stanford Cardinal on Saturday afternoon at Jane Sanders Stadium with an 8-0, run-rule victory. Koral Costa and Lauren Lindvall led the Ducks' offensive attack, with three doubles and three RBI between the two of them. Cheridan Hawkins was excellent in the circle once again, limiting the Cardinal to just two hits in five shutout innings. Sophomore Jenna Lilley left in the second inning after getting hit in the face with a pitch. She was taken to the E.R. after being helped off the field. Oregon softball still has not lost in Jane Sanders Stadium following Friday night's 11-2 victory just one day after the Ducks christened their new ballpark with a 2-0 win. After going quietly in Game 1, Oregon's bats woke up on Friday and led the way in support of freshman Megan Kleist, who picked up her 10th win of the season. The Oregon Ducks stifled the Duke Blue Devils 82-68 Thursday night in the Honda Center in Anaheim. Oregon advances to their first Elite 8 since 2007 with the victory. The game was tied at 31 late in the first half, but the Ducks took control and never looked back, outscoring Duke by 14 from that point on. Dillon Brooks led the Ducks with 22 points, but Jordan Bell provided a major spark with 13 points, seven rebounds, three blocks, and two steals. WBB: Ducks Fend Off Utah 73-63, Advance to WNIT Quarterfinals

The Oregon Ducks had a slow start against the Utes. However, sophomore guard Lexi Bando had the hot hand from the field shooting 50% (11-22). Bando ended up with 31 points and 5 rebounds in Oregon's victory. The Ducks showed a lot of resiliency in this game. Despite the slow start, the Ducks' tenacity did not stop throughout the entirety of the game. Redshirt junior forward Jacinta Vandenberg only had 2 points in the first half, but she managed to put together a game with 7 rebounds. In addition, senior guard Lexi Petersen remained cold throughout the first half, but she had two timely three-pointers in the second half to keep the Ducks on track to victory.
