Baylor Survives Long Beach State in Game 1 of Eugene Regional

The Baylor Lady Bears defeated the Long Beach State 49ers 3-2 in Game 1 of the Eugene Regional on Friday night. The Bears scored two in the first inning off 49er starter Christina Clermont but did not score again until the seventh inning, when the game was tied. Long Beach State scratched for runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to tie it up before Jessica Scroggins lifted a ball deep into the right-center field bleachers for a walk-of home run. With the win, Baylor advances to Game 3 on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., when they will take on the winner of Oregon and Fordham. Long Beach State will take on the loser of Oregon vs. Fordham following Baylor’s game on Saturday. Below is postgame audio following Game 1.
