AUDIO: Oregon Volleyball Lands No. 15 Seed, to Host NCAA Tournament Opening Rounds for First Time Since 2014

Oregon Volleyball landed the no. 15 seed in the 2018 NCAA Tournament on Sunday, November 25 and will host the first and second rounds at Matthew Knight Arena, starting with New Mexico State on Thursday, November 29 at 7 PM. It is the first time the Ducks have hosted the opening rounds of the tournament since 2014, which is also the last time Oregon reached the third round of the tourney. Oregon locked up its hosting bid following a 2-0 stretch this past week, in which the Ducks survived in five sets at no. 19 Washington and then knocked off Oregon State in the Civil War in four sets. Those wins moved Oregon to 20-10 on the year and 13-7 in Pac-12 play, good enough to match the program’s best finish in the conference standings after tying for second with USC. The winner of Oregon-New Mexico State will play the winner of Hawaii and Baylor, who play each other before Oregon’s opening match, in Eugene on Friday. Listen below as head coach Matt Ulmer and the Ducks react to learning their postseason draw.
