AUDIO: Oregon Football Closes Regular Season with Civil War

It’s a short week for Oregon football as the Ducks close out the 2018 regular season with Oregon State in the 122nd annual Civil War Game on Friday at 1 p.m. With Thanksgiving ahead after the narrow 31-29 win over Arizona State on Saturday, there’s little time to slack as Oregon (7-4, 4-4) seeks to end its season on a winning streak against Oregon State (2-9, 1-7), and more importantly, begin a new winning streak against its in-state rivals. After all, it was the dramatic 34-24 win the last time the two programs met in Corvallis’s Reser Stadium that ended the Ducks’ then eight-game winning streak over the Beavers and sprung into motion the firings and hirings that landed now first-year head coach Mario Cristobal in Eugene. But in what would turn out to be Willie Taggart’s final game as Oregon’s head coach, the Ducks handed Oregon State the biggest loss in the series’ long history with a 69-10 throttling in 2017. Now with a first-year head coach of its own in Jonathan Smith, the Beavers want one final hurrah in the 2018 season while the Ducks seek momentum heading into bowl season. Listen below as coach Cristobal previews the matchup in his weekly Monday press conference.
