BSB: Ducks Take Game One Behind Mercer’s Strong Outing

In a game that featured a battle of two aces, it was Oregon’s Friday night starter Matt Mercer that came out victorious, as the Ducks defeated the FAU Owls 2-1. Mercer pitched 7 strong innings, giving up one earned run and striking out six owl batters. FAU’s starter Jake Miednik was impressive as well, as he held the ducks to two runs through 8 innings of work. Jakob Goldfarb led the Ducks in hitting, collecting two hits of Miednik, one of which was an RBI single. Oregon moves to 6-2 on the season, as Junior Cole Stringer will take the hill for the Ducks tomorrow at 2pm for game two of the four game series.
