After losing two of its first three games in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, No. 5-ranked Oregon softball team finished the weekend with wins over No. 7 LSU and unranked San Jose State University. Miranda Elish led the Ducks to a 4-0 victory vs. the Tigers by throwing a two-hit shutout with some help from DJ Sanders’ bat and Shannon Rhodes’ arm. Against San Jose State, the Ducks won 1-0 in six innings due to an agreement to end the game after two hours of play regardless of the score. Megan Kleist and Elish combined for the shutout of the Spartans. The full game story is below.
