MBB: Elijah Brown, Ducks defeat Arizona Wildcats after heated OT battle

Oregon Men’s basketball seals the win, but needed overtime to overcome the Arizona Wildcats Saturday night at Matthew Knight Arena. Their 98-93 win came on senior night that honored, Roman Sorkin, Mikyle McIntosh and Elijah Brown. Yet, the Wildcats did not cut any slack, starting the game on fire, making their first seven baskets but with the help of three-point hot hand, Elijah Brown, the Ducks slowly gained control. Brown finished with 30 points. It was not easy with Arizona center and NBA prospect, Deandre Ayton leading the Wildcats with 28 points and 16 rebounds. Ayton has recently been linked with an NCAA scandal, involving paying players alongside Head Coach Sean Miller. Ayton and company heard jeers throughout which gave the Duck fans an extra incentive to make noise. After a heated overtime battle with the Wildcats, the Ducks earn their ninth win in Pac 12 play and nineteenth overall. Oregon will drive north on the Interstate 5 to visit the Washington State Cougars and Washington Huskies, starting Thursday at 6 p.m. PST.
