Ducks escape Wisconsin upset in a comeback win, 6-5

Oregon softball eluded a near loss in their second Regional game against Big 10 opponent, Wisconsin, winning 6-5 in extra innings. The Ducks started off per usual with two early runs in the first inning. Wisconsin freshman pitcher Kaitlyn Menz quickly adjusted, silencing the Ducks offense in the next four innings while her offense supported her earning three runs in the second and two in the fifth innings respectively. Oregon later overcame adversity with two sparks from freshmen standouts Shannon Rhodes and Miranda Elish. After some great offense, the Ducks advance to tomorrow’s Eugene Regional final at 4 p.m. PST.
