Oregon Volleyball Falls to Stanford 3-1 on the Road

Oregon Volleyball traveled to Stanford on Thursday as they were faced with the challenge of facing the #2 team on the nation on the road. That challenge proved to be too much for the #17 Ducks as they fell 3-1. Oregon got off to a hot start in set one, and battled Stanford back and forth to a 26-24 loss. Holly Campbell of Stanford had four solo blocks in that set, carrying the way for the top blocking team in the nation. In set two, Oregon jumped out to a 9-4 lead before Stanford put together a big run to come back in the set. Tied at 22-22, Stanford came out of the timeout with a 3-0 run to take set two 25-22. In set three, the struggles started to hit for Oregon and they were trailing 11-4. Oregon slowly came all the way back to impressively win that set 25-22. Set four was a different story, as the Cardinal dominated Oregon 25-11 behind seven blocks. Stanford had a great team effort with many players making impacts, but they were undoubtedly led by 2017 ESPNw player of the year Kathryn Plummer, who had 21 kills, eight digs, and six blocks. Oregon was led by a collection of players, including Ronika Stone (11 kills, five blocks), Lindsey Vander Weide (11 kills, two SA), and Taylor Borup (nine kills, 13 digs). Borup returned after not having played since the October 19th matchup against Cal.
