Written Story By Cuinn Huber

The University of Oregon Ducks hosted the USC Trojans today in the first three-game series at PK Park. The Ducks are coming off momentum after winning Wednesday’s game against Sacramento State 11-4. Ian Umlandt’s seven innings on the mound helped propel the Ducks to the victory splitting the mid-week series at one apiece.

The Trojans started strong with Jacob Galloway earning the first run of the game putting the Trojans up 1-0. The Ducks responded in the second inning with Jefferyeard earning a run off of a passed ball to tie the game. In the third inning, Bryce Boettcher gave Oregon another run to give the lead 2-1. The fourth inning saw more ducks magic as Anson Arroz secured a run of a Meggers hit. The next three innings were scoreless for both teams. Then Boettcher earned another run putting Oregon a 4-1 lead.

RJ Gordon Pitched for eight innings while only allowing one run, making this by far his best game of the season. Bryce Boettcher was the lead scorer with two runs and an amazing outfield catch with Trojan bases loaded to prevent a score in the fifth inning. The Ducks are scheduled to take on the Trojans two more times this weekend with Grayson Grinsell expected to be the starting pitcher tomorrow. With this win, Oregon has proved to be a strong PAC 12 team.
