WBB Recap | Ducks take disappointing loss to Colorado, despite hopeful comeback

Eugene, OR – Despite a strong defense showing, the Oregon Ducks (14-8) fails on the offensive end losing to The Colorado Buffaloes (17-5) 63-53 Friday night at Matthew Knight Arena. This is the first time Colorado has won at Matthew Knight Arena since 2014.

The Ducks starting off strong in the 1st quarter going pound for pound against Colorado Led by Endyia Rogers 7 points, which is where she would score half of her total points in the game. In the second, no Duck scored more than 2 points, while Aaronette Vonleh and Frida Formann would combine for more points than the entire ducks combined (11 points). In the third quarter, the Ducks would spark a comeback led by Grace VanSlooten, Endyia Rogers, and Taylor Hosendove. The Ducks would end the third quarter only two points behind (39-37). The Buffaloes would start the fourth quarter off hot and never look back. Outscoring the Ducks 24-16 in the 4th. One of the biggest struggles for the Ducks was the three point shot, going 0-16 on the night. Despite the disappointing loss, the Ducks continued to excel on the defensive end, registering 9 blocks and 2 steals on the game.

With this loss, the Ducks have dropped to 5-6 against conference opponents, tied with Washington State for 7th in the Pac-12. The Ducks try to bounce back this Sunday, February 5th against the number 7 nationally ranked Utah Utes (19-2) at Matthew Knight Arena.
