VB Preview: Oregon Looks to Continue Their Dominate Winning Streak vs Arizona State

By Ben McGrath

The Oregon Ducks women’s volleyball team will face off against interconference rival Arizona State in Eugene on Friday night. The Ducks are coming off a four game win streak, including taking down #5 Stanford in straight sets. Meanwhile the Sun Devils have had some recent struggles including a 0-3 loss to Colorado in their most recent game. The Ducks are led by senior Brooke Nuneviller and Freshman Mimi Colyer. Who both have top 7 spots in kills per set in the Pac 12 this year. For Arizona State, Iman Isanovic looks to continue her dominant season as she is 4th in the Pac 12 in total kills. Oregon has found success in many areas of the court this year, however their limitation of errors has been their most dominant. The Ducks have only 169 errors on the season which is the best in the Pac 12. Meanwhile Arizona State has not had as much success offensively as they rank last in the Pac 12 in points/set as well as kills/set. However Iman Isanovic and Arizona State will look to continue their success at the service line as they will try to rally as many aces as possible as well pressure the net against the young Oregon blockers. The Ducks head into this match looking for a national ranking spot after a dominant performance against Stanford and a 4 game win streak, Oregon will surely be in a good spot to be ranked if they can pull out a win against the veteran filled Arizona State.
