STORY: Oregon Men’s Basketball Steamrolled by BYU in Portland, 81-49

It wasn’t Oregon’s night in Portland, as it came out flat from the jump and ultimately fell to BYU, 81-49. After shooting 17% in the first half, the offensive woes carried on as the Ducks finished the game shooting a somber 32%. Eric Williams Jr. was the lone Duck in double figures with 12 points. Will Richardson, Jacob Young, and Quincy Guerrier all finished with 8 points. Defensively, the Ducks allowed the Cougars to shoot 60% from the field and 41% from behind the arc. BYU’s Alex Barcello was far and away the best player on the court tonight – finishing with 25 points on 9-11 shooting.

This is Oregon’s worst loss since falling 96-61 at Stanford on February 3rd, 2018. BYU’s clip of 60% is also the highest shooting percentage Oregon has allowed since allowing Stanford to shoot 62.5% in that 2018 game.

The good news for Oregon tonight is that N’Faly Dante made his return to the lineup after suffering an ACL injury last season. Besides that, the Ducks will look to erase this one from its memory and look towards the Maui Invitational in Vegas, beginning on November 22nd with a matchup against Chaminade.
