STORY: Oregon Women’s Basketball Handles USC 92-69 to Improve to 6-0 in Pac-12 Play

Oregon Women’s Basketball improved to 6-0 in Pac-12 play and 8-0 overall with a 92-69 victory over the USC Trojans. Oregon played this game without three players: Taylor Chavez, Sydney Parrish, and Sedona Prince. However, the Ducks didn’t miss a beat, as six players posted scored in double digits en route to another Pac-12 victory. Taylor Mikesell (16 pts, 6-14 FG), Nyara Sabally (15 pts, 6 rebs), Te-Hina Paopao (14 pts, 6-14 FG), Jaz Shelley (13 pts), and Erin Boley (13 pts) were the main contributors for the Ducks. For USC, Endyia Rogers (20 pts) had a nice night on Friday.

Oregon started this game with stellar defense, allowing just 19 points in the first half and going to intermission ahead 42-19. USC shot just 30% from the field and committed 9 turnovers in the first two quarters. After a low-scoring first half, each team scored 50 points in the second half. For the game, USC shot 48% to Oregon’s 51%, but the big difference was 16 turnovers to 9 in favor of Oregon. Oregon also out-rebounded USC 38-25, including a 14 to 2 margin on the offensive glass.

Oregon will now set its sights on a Sunday matchup with #11 UCLA at 1 pm at MKA.
