Oregon Baseball completes four game sweep of Milwaukee

Text Story: Alex Roth

The Oregon Ducks finished off a four game sweep Sunday of the Milwaukee Panthers as they defeated the Panthers 6-1 Sunday at Pk Park. Oregon starter Brett Walker delivered a quality start that included 6 innings of work while allowing 0 runs and striking out four batters. Aaron Zavala went three for three at the plate for the Ducks and reached base four times. Zavala also finished the day with one RBI and was the driving force of the Ducks offense during the 6-1 win.

Oregon was able to shut down Milwaukee’s offense for much of the game, with the lone blemish coming from a Mitchell Buban single in the top of the 7th inning. Decker Stedman, Kolby Somers, and Hunter Breault each provided solid relief outings for the final three innings, allowing only three hits and one earned run. This win marks the 7th straight for a suddenly hot Oregon baseball team, which has not lost at Pk Park yet this season.

Oregon is now 7-4 on the season and heads to Hawaii this weekend for a four game series with the Rainbow Warriors before heading to Los Angeles the following weekend to take on UCLA to begin conference play. The Ducks will look to build on the momentum of this win and the winning streak overall as they get ready to face two tough opponents in the near future.
