After parting ways with defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt on Valentine’s Day, Oregon Football announced Boise State defensive coordinator Andy Avalos as Leavitt’s replacement, the team announced on Friday, March 1. The following Monday, head coach Mario Cristobal and Avalos both spoke to the media about the hiring process and expectations for the defense going forward. Cristobal also took time to speak on other coaching staff changes for the 2019 season, where he needs to see his team improve, and the team’s overall health as spring practices begin.
