WBB | Stars Shine in Oregon’s Blowout of Washington State

Scoring came easily in No. 5 Oregon’s 98-58 win over Washington State, as Ruthy Hebard’s career-high 34 points on 16-21 shooting and Sabrina Ionescu’s 15th career triple-double lifted Oregon to their sixth consecutive win.

The Ducks jumped out to a 49-29 halftime lead thanks to Satou Sabally, who finished with 25 points on the afternoon, and Ruthy Hebard, who were successful in utilizing favorable matchups en route to a combined for 33 of Oregon’s 49 first-half points. In the second half, Sabrina Ionescu looked to create more for herself, as the Junior scored 11 of her 17 total points on 5-7 shooting from the field.

Oregon held Washington State to 39 percent shooting from the floor, including holding their leading scorer, Borislava Hristova, largely in check. Hristova’s streak of eight consecutive games with 15 or more points came to an end on Sunday, as she finished with 13.

Oregon will travel down south to play the LA schools next week, starting with USC on January 11th at 8 PM.
