AUDIO: No. 14 Oregon MBB Opens 2018-2019 Regular Season with Pair of Home Games

The Oregon mens’ basketball team opens the 2018-2019 regular season on Tuesday night with in-state foe Portland State. The game will mark the debut of the highest ranked recruiting class in program history, headlined by five-star Bol Bol, who stands at a stagger 7 foot 2. The Ducks enter their ninth season under head coach Dana Altman with the No. 14 ranking in the AP’s preseason poll and were selected by the Pac-12 media to win the conference. Tuesday will be a rematch of a relatively close game a season ago, when the Vikings hung with the Ducks in Eugene before Oregon pulled away for a 95-84 win. Oregon plays at Matthew Knight Arena again on Friday night when the Ducks host Eastern Washington. The Ducks defeated Western Oregon in an exhibition game 77-58 last Thursday, though the team was without starting point guard Payton Pritchard, senior forward Paul White, and a pair of injured freshmen in Louis King and Will Richardson. Listen below as Altman and White spoke with the media on Monday afternoon ahead of the team’s season opener.
