AUDIO: No. 17 Oregon Football’s Next Opportunity Awaits

No. 17 Oregon football’s next opportunity for a marquee victory in 2018 awaits on Saturday as No. 7 ranked rivals to the north in Washington comes to Eugene. With another primetime Pac-12 matchup comes the Ducks chance to shed the memories of the heartbreaking overtime loss to Stanford just weeks ago. Oregon entered the bye week after a 42-24 victory at then No. 24 Cal for the program’s first ranked win, and conference road win, since 2016. As quarterback Justin Herbert continues to build a case for a future in the NFL, his running in the 2018 Heisman race hinges on Saturday’s rivalry matchup. Following 12 consecutive wins over Washington, the Ducks have lost the team’s last two meetings by combined score of 108-24. That includes the 70-21 thrashing the Huskies dealt their rivals in 2016, which also happened to be then true freshman Justin Herbert’s first career start. The storylines are ripe for the 2018 edition of Oregon and Washington, and head coach Mario Cristobal addressed the media as the Ducks set forth on their preparations.
