SB: Dominant Offense Powers Ducks Past Bears in 13-0 Win

No. 2 Oregon Softball extended its winning streak to 11 and moved a step closer to the conference title with its resounding 13-0 victory at no. 24 Cal Thursday afternoon. The Ducks started relatively slowly offensively, scratching a run across in the first frame and going down 1-2-3 in the second. However, that started a streak of four straight innings with runs scored by the squad, capped off a seven-run sixth inning that saw the Ducks bat around and square up three home runs. Big flies for DJ Sanders, April Utecht, and Lauren Lindvall highlighted the 15 hits put up by the Ducks, and contrasted strongly with the two hits starting pitcher Miranda Elish allowed. Elish went six full innings, striking out three in a scoreless performance for her 18th complete game in 19 starts. Oregon moves to 45-7 with the win, and is now just two games away from guaranteeing at least a share of the conference title. The series will continue on Friday at 3PM from Levine-Fricke Field before concluding on Saturday at noon.
