BSB: Washington State dominates Oregon 7-0, Scotty Sunitsch throws no-hitter.

Oregon and Washington State faced off for game 3 on Sunday after the Ducks took the first two games on Friday. In what turned out to be a sunny day, that didn’t turn out to be the case for the Ducks. Scotty Sunitsch took the mound for Washington State and controlled the game from start to finish. Oregon got on base four times total, but all from walks as Sunitsch earned the no hitter.  In Oregon Baseball history, this is the first time the Ducks have been no hit according to their records. Oregon couldn’t find consistent pitching throughout the entire game, with four different pitchers taking the mound. Kolby Somers got the start and pitched four strong innings, but in the fifth inning gave up three straight singles and an rbi triple, leading to James Acuna relieving him. From there, the most innings any Duck pitcher went was 2.1. Ultimately, Oregon gave up 9 hits and 7 runs with some crucial fielding mistakes, including two deep hits that were just out of reach for the Oregon outfielders that led to a 3 rbi double and 2 rbi triple. Oregon takes this series 2-1, but unable to get their first Pac-12 series sweep since 2016. The Ducks will be back in action at PK Park Monday for a game against the Portland Pilots, before traveling to Seattle for a series against the Huskies.
