Late Rally Books Oregon’s Ticket to Oklahoma City

The Oregon Duck Softball team used late game heroics for the second consecutive Saturday, this time erasing a three-run deficit in the top of the 7th to defeat the #14 seeded Kentucky Wildcats 6-5 to take the Eugene Super Regional 2-0 and advance to the 2017 Women’s College World Series. Kentucky jumped out to a 3-0 lead, shutting the Oregon offense down until the 5th when an illegal pitch and fielder’s choice made it 3-2. Kentucky would add two insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th, only for the Ducks to come screaming back with four runs with their backs against the wall to take the lead 6-5. That lead would hold as Miranda Elish closed out Kentucky in the 7th, clinching their spot in their fourth Women’s College World Series in six years.
