Audio story:
On a chilly Wednesday night outside the Morse Events Center, the Bushnell Beacons(3-2) kept things hot inside, dominating the visiting Lewis and Clark Pioneers by a score of 86-56. In a an all around showcase by the Beacons, they especially excelled with their shooting and defensive play. From beyond the arc, they shot 9 for 22 with plenty of midrange jumpers thrown in as well. On the less glorious end of the court, Bushnell still executed well, starting the game off with a 15-0 lead and hounding Lewis and Clark ballhandlers all night.
Leading the way for the Beacons was a trio of juniors in Bella Pedrojetti, Aspen Slifka, and Aly Mirabile. Pedrojetti was the leading scorer for the night with 14, shooting 5-7 and converting especially well from range, going 4-5. Slifka was right behind her at 13 points, also contributing 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Mirabile was the tablesetter for the night, running the offense to the tune of 6 assists and contributing with 6 points of her own. She was also putting in work on the defensive end, ending up with 2 steals on the night.
Next up for the Beacons is their conference opener against the Corban Warriors, once again in Eugene. This matchup is scheduled for November 22nd, with tipoff at 5:30.
