Following an 8-0 run-rule loss to the Ducks, the Utah Utes were looking to turn their fortunes around in game two of the weekend series. Utah starter Miranda Viramontes held Oregon hitless through the first four innings as her team took a 2-0 lead, but the Oregon bats came alive in the fifth, totaling four runs and six hits in the innings. From their, Oregon ace Miranda Elish did her job, holding the Utes scoreless through the final two frames of the game to seal the victory. Haley Cruse once again had a strong night out of the ninth spot in the order, going two for two with two singles and a run scored. The Utes will have one more shot at the Ducks when they play on Sunday, May 6 at Jane Sanders Stadium.
