MBB | Oregon Wins Sloppy Against D2 Powerhouse Western Oregon

The Ducks came into the season as the No. 1 team in the Pac-12 preseason polls and ranked No. 14 nationally as the team boasted the No. 3 recruiting class, but these rankings definitely left fans wondering what could be. Even though the Ducks were able to pull away and win 77-58, the Ducks struggles showed early and often, as the plethora of new players seemed to have a hard time gelling on the hard court. There was still some promise shown by the end of the night, as 5-star freshman Bol Bol and 4-star freshman Francis Okoro finished the night with solid performances. Bol almost had a double-double in his first game as a Duck, posting 19 points and 8 rebounds, while Okoro got the double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Ducks were able to outscore their opponents in the paint 30-14 in the second half, helping them run away with the win. The Ducks will look to shore things up as they face a formidable foe from last year, as the Portland State Vikings travel south to Eugene. The game is next Tuesday, Nov. 6th, at 8pm.
