The Oregon Ducks offense paved the way to a 96-71 victory over the Portland Pilots Wednesday evening at Matthew Knight Arena. After suffering a deflating loss to the Stanford Cardinal on a game winning buzzer beater the Ducks responded in a big way, and pushed their season win percentage back over .500.
The Ducks had 4 players score over 16 points, including 20 from starting center N'Faly Dante. He helped set the tone as the Ducks outscored the Pilots 54-14 in the paint. Guards De'Vion Harmon and Will Richardson also had positive performances for the Ducks. Harmon set his Ducks career high with 19 points, and Richardson had one of his better games of the season scoring 16 points and adding 6 assists. Quincy Guerrier showed why he was voted on an All-Pac-12 team before the season. The Syracuse transfer scored 17 points on 8-12 shooting, including hitting his first 6 shots.
It was nearly a wire to wire victory for Oregon, as they led from the 19:40 mark in the 1st half onward. Oregon will have to continue their positive momentum as the next opponent they face is the #1 overall Baylor Bears on Sunday.
