On Sunday afternoon, the No. 11 Oregon Ducks (16-3, 8-2 Big Ten) completed their second straight sweep against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (5-16, 0-10 Big Ten).

Onye Ofoegbu and Mimi Colyer each finished with 12 kills. Ofoegbu dominated the second set with multiple kills and forced errors. Colyer’s serves caused many aces and service errors throughout the match.

After the game, head coach Matt Ulmer spoke about the depth of the team and how Ofoegbu got involved so early in the match.

“We’re blessed to have the depth that we have. Robbie [Purashaj] got Onye involved right away,” Ulmer said. “I think Onye had seven kills in the first set, which I don’t remember the last time she had that. Onye was really involved, was really working in the middle, just changing our offense when that happens.”

Ofoegbu has played well all season just like Colyer. The redshirt senior transfer from UC Irvine has a total of 165 kills and a hitting percentage of .389 this season.

When Colyer gets the help that she needs, this Oregon team is unbeatable. On top of Ofoegbu's performance, Colyer also caused many errors for Rutgers. Because Colyer has been playing so well all season, it has given more opportunities to Ofoegbu and Maya De Los Reyes. When those players get more opportunities in the attack, it gives Colyer more time to stand in the middle and hit the ball hard to cause errors.

The Ducks have two days off before heading up North to Seattle for a road matchup against the Washington Huskies on Wednesday Night.
