The Oregon Ducks came into Autzen Stadium with the opposite trajectory as their Saturday counterparts. Oregon, riding high off a road win against #3 Ohio State and being vaulted into the #4 ranking in the country, found themselves matches up against an FCS opponent in the Stony Brook SeaWolves.
Oregon came into the game as massive favorites but quickly subverted the countries expectations after stumbling out of the blocks. The first quarter ended with the Ducks barely edging out the SeaWolves 10-7, and the 2nd quarter didn't result in much more offense outside of an Anthony Brown TD scamper.
At the intermission, the Ducks held just a 10 point lead and were only outgaining Stony Brook on the ground by a single yard. The 2nd half was a different story. Oregon was able to halt Stony Brook's offense completely as the SeaWolves went backward for -17 yards of total offense. On the flip side, Oregon's insertion of True Freshman QB Ty Thompson seemingly paid off as the Ducks pulled away and never looked back.
Oregon would end the night with a 48-7 win highlighted by five defensive turnovers, including two Verone McKinley interceptions. Offensively, the Ducks found young bright spots with Freshmen Ty Thompson, Terrance Ferguson, Dont'e Thornton, and Trey Benson, all finding the end zone. Oregon will now prepare to start their Pac-12 slate with a conference home opener next Saturday at 7:30 pm vs. Arizona.
