Junior forward Dillon Brooks lead the Ducks with 23 points and 9 rebounds in Oregon's 89-87 victory over the #2 UCLA Bruins, on Tuesday night at Matthew Knight Arena. However, it was the final shot he hit that mattered most. Oregon was down by 1 when Brooks connected on a 3-point shot with just .8 seconds left in the game. Following the Brooks triple, UCLA's Freshmen guard missed the half-court bomb, which sealed the upset victory for Oregon. Oregon finished on 11-30 from the 3-point line, including 7-14 from downtown in the 1st half. UCLA controlled the 3-point line the 2nd half, shooting 7-14. The high scoring Bruins came into the game ranked second in the nation in shooting (95.8 points per game). UCLA finished shooting 34-64 on 19 assists. Thomas Welsh lead the way for the Bruins, finishing with 20 points on 8-11 shooting, and 4-4 from the charity stripe. Oregon's freshmen guard Payton Pritchard finished 3-5 from downtown, including a deep triple in the closing minutes that would help setup the game winner for Brooks. Pritchard would finish with 15 points and 9 assists. Oregon will now look to USC on Friday at Matthew Knight Arena.
