KWVA is stoked to celebrate our 23rd birthday and this year will be different than ever before. This year's festivities will present musical performances by local talents, Soul Vibrator and Alvin & The Chipfunks, and will also include a Moonlight Mash bike ride. The bike ride will take off from Kesey Square at 7:30 p.m. and will end at the WOW Hall around 9:30 p.m. right as the music kicks off. Valet bike parking will be provided in the parking lot behind the WOW Hall by CAT. (Center for Appropriate Transport).
Moonlight Mash Bike Ride, 7:30-9:30 p.m. (From Kesey to Wow Hall)
Music, 9:00p.m.-12 a.m.
DJ Foodstamp, 9:00-9:45 p.m.
Alvin & The Chipfunks, 10:00-11:15 p.m.
Soul Vibrator, 11:15-12:30 a.m.
This event is not just about celebrating KWVA’s birthday, but also about engaging more people with the local music scene. By partnering with the Moonlight Mash, the WOW Hall and CAT, we hope to bring out a lot of people that may not have otherwise attended a college radio event.
Since KWVA will soon be celebrating the grand opening of its new space in the EMU come Fall 2016, the event will also feature a pop-up photo exhibit called A Visual History of KWVA. The photos will be presented at the Global Scholars Hall gallery, with a reception at 7 p.m. on May 17. They will also be presented at WOW Hall during the Birthday Bash.
Raffle tickets, event t-shirts and KWVA swag will be available for purchase at the event as well.
