It's Friday! We've made it through the week and we're happy you have, too. Here's what you can look forward to this weekend:
In studio, on Sunday, February 8th, Portland artist Robin Bacior will be gracing our airwaves with a live session at 5 pm. Prepare to be entranced by her dreamy, melancholy, piano-driven melodies for a full hour, hosted by DJ Sphere (R and B and Jazz). If you're unable tune in at that time, keep a look out for a video of Bacior's live session on our Youtube page.
On Saturday, February 7th, Cambodian-surf-rock group Dengue Fever will be shaking the house at WOW Hall. Kicking off their North American tour in Los Angeles on February 5th, they will be in Eugene just two days later to show us what they've got. Last time they played in Eugene was 2012, so if you missed them last time around, be sure not to miss them this time! Additionally, Eugene-native favorites Pluto the Planet and power trio Human Ottoman will be opening for the band.
Already trying to find a way to look forward to Monday? Look no further than the Con Brio concert at Cozmic Pizza on February 9th. Known for their dance-y live sets and intensely youthful soul-filled vocals, it'll be sure to kick those Monday blues right out the door.
Just chilling at home? Spin something new from artists Jessica Pratt, PRhyme, Natalie Prass, or Geographer, who all released albums over the last week. Have a rad weekend, and tune in any time of the day or night to KWVA or KWVA 2 to get your fix of good music.
