On April 13th, Candy Cigarettes performed on KWVA's Live Sessions. Candy Cigarettes aka Lane Mueller performed on KWVA's Live Sessions previously over 10 years ago in December of 2013! Back then, the station was located upstairs in the EMU, rather than on the ground floor where it is now. Lane's music is self-described as "Reminiscent of Boards of Canada’s nostalgia, Elliott Smith’s emotional songwriting, Kid A’s atmospheric rock, and glistening 90s shoegaze." (Live Sessions is a show on KWVA every Sunday from 4pm-6pm during Fall, Winter and Spring terms. Bands and artists from Eugene and beyond are invited to perform LIVE as we turn our station into a DIY recording studio. Shows are often hosted by KWVA DJs, who interview the artists on-air. Live Sessions is produced and scheduled by the KWVA production department and it's hard-working assistants, with additional help from the KWVA Music department.)
