KWVA is Hiring Student Staff

We’re beginning the hiring process for the Student Staff positions for the 2013-2014 academic year, positions begin July 1.

Student Staff are responsible for the daily operations of KWVA, at various levels depending on position. Positions include:

Membership Outreach Associate

Sponsorship Outreach Associate

Street Team Outreach Associate

Marketing Director

News Director

Sports Director

Production Director

Music Director

Programming Director

Assistant General Manager

All positions are open to University of Oregon students enrolled at least half-time for three of the four terms. Positions are paid a monthly stipend, as indicated on the job description. No experience is necessary for most positions.

Job duties begin July 1st, 2013 and end June 30th, 2014. Applicants may choose, at the time of application, to hold the position for a 6 month term through December 31st, 2013. Training will begin immediately upon hiring.

Applicants should submit a resume, cover letter stating interest, and the KWVA General Application Form for each position applying. Submit completed application to the EMU Administration Office, Suite M-101, Attn: KWVA Hiring by noon on Monday, June 10th.

KWVA EUGENE ANNOUNCES MUSIC FESTIVAL BETTERFEST AS 20th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION MAY 13th-18th

KWVA Eugene 88.1FM turns 20 this year and is celebrating by throwing a week long music and media festival called BETTERFEST!  KWVA wants to party with you May 13th – 18th! The festival culminates in three main stage concerts at the legendary WOW Hall featuring performances from your favorite college radio artists.

During the week leading up to the concerts enjoy a kick off party, record swap, hip-hop freestyle tournament, Small Howl local band showcase, unique radio programming, campus events, and participation of local businesses.

The three WOW Hall concerts will be completely free to all UO students. Thursday and Friday night shows will be $5 for non-students, and Saturday’s show will be $8. Events earlier in the week leading up to the concerts will have cover charges. For $20, anyone can purchase a VIP pass that will guarantee them entrance into ANY Betterfest event or concert.
