How long have you been a DJ? 6 months

What made you want to be a DJ?

I spend most of my free time at concerts or festivals. As a result, I’m usually the friend that gets handed the aux cord whenever music is being played. So when I found out about KWVA I thought, “what a great way to nourish the world with flavorful beats.”

Tell us your favorite memory as a DJ:

During my first show when someone called the station to tell me how much they loved my taste in music. It is such a surreal feeling to know that people are listening to you.

If you could play only one album on the radio for the rest of your DJ career, what would it be and why?

Daft Punk’s Alive 2007 (Live) Album. The duo mixes their classic groundbreaking tracks together to create a fresh new sound. This album is what kindled my dance music obsession.

Dream guest to have on your show?

Diplo. His radio show Diplo and Friends is where I get a lot of my inspiration. He also makes awesome music, and his label Mad Decent features some of my favorite artists.

Thanks, Swanky! If you’re interested in being the next featured DJ of the week, contact music@kwvaradio.org.
