KWVA is the only place on campus where UO students can gain production and radio operation experience.

These stipend positions are open to full-time enrolled UO students only. Hiring for all stipend positions occurs late in Winter term. More information will be available about how to apply at that time. Some positions do become available throughout the year, and that information will be posted here.

Assistant General Manager
Assists General Manager with the day-to-day operation of the station.
Programming Director
Oversees all on-air content and responsible for hiring and training DJs.
Music Director
Responsible organizing the music library, contact with promoters, weekly charts and tracking.
Assistant Music Directors
Assists the Music Director with mail distribution, rotation to library filing, removal of old library materials and digitizing. Duties are shared amoung the three assistants throughout the year.
News Director
Responsible for the daily broadcast of Democracy Now!, Free Speech Radio News and live campus news productions. Responsible for coordination and oversight of talk shows. Recruits, oversees and trains reporting staff.
Assistant News Director
Assists News Director with the direction and production of news/talk programming, and recruitment and training of reporting staff.
Sports Director
Responsible for the boradcast of live sports, the weekly sports talk program and regular sports stories in campus news programs. Recruits, oversees and trains a sports reporting staff.
Assistant Sports Director
Assists Sports Director with the broadcast of live sports, the weekly sports talk program and recruitment and training of sports reporting staff.
Production Director
Oversees quality of all broadcasts from production standpoint and works with the other KWVA departments to produce pre-recorded materials for broadcast.
Marketing Director
Oversees all outreach activities, station promotion and relationship with venues and bands.
Outreach Associates
Band Associate
Coordinates band interviews and in-studio performances
Ticket Giveaway Associates
Communicates with concert promoters and venues to schedule on-air ticket giveaways and promotions.
Sponsorship Outreach Associates
Works with local businesses to gain sponsorship for the station, programs and special events.
Graphic Design/Inventory Associate
Designs all promotional materials/merchandise and keeps an updated list of materials/merchandise inventory.
Membership Associate
Keeps track of membership base and ensures that the members receive benefits for their level of subscription.
Street Team
Coordinates KWVA volunteers to DJ and table at events, hand out flyers and represent the station.
