STORY: True Freshman Penei Sewell Fortifies Oregon Football’s Blindside

Entering 2018, Oregon returned three starting offensive lineman with Jake Hanson, Calvin Throckmorton and Shane Lemieux. With each of them now at 30 conseuctive starts, the Ducks offensive line, which was ranked third in the nation by Pro Football Focus earlier this week, has been anchored by a surprising new face. Penei Sewell, the first true freshman to start along the Oregon line since 1997, has excelled through his first five games. Graded as the No. 1 freshmen offensive linemen, the No. 2 tackle in the Pac-12 (And No. 6 in the nation), Sewell has exceeded all expectations. Listen below to the full story on the the man securing quarterback Justin Herbert’s blindside.
